An increasing amount of notable, intelligent people are speaking up about the bright future that Bitcoin has. The most recent person to join this group is Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey.
Speaking to The Times recently, Dorsey says that he believes Bitcoin could take the place of the US Dollar within 10 years—and perhaps sooner than that.
Dorsey is no stranger to currency. As the CEO of Square, Dorsey knows exactly what it takes for a currency to be scalable on the Internet, and what it would take for one to get widespread utilization.
“The world ultimately will have a single currency, the internet will have a single currency. I personally believe that it will be bitcoin.” – Jack Dorsey
Of course, the road to Bitcoin taking over won’t be easy. Dorsey noted that Bitcoin is encountering temporary difficulties. However, he remains optimistic for its future in spite of these difficulties, saying, “As more and more people have it, those things go away.”
As Coindesk recently reported, Dorsey’s Square is beginning to allow users “to buy and sell bitcoin over its payment application, Cash App,” showing his commitment to seeing Bitcoin succeed and gain widespread use.
The future is continuing to look bright for Bitcoin.
